Nina Kei Bio from Fashion Studio For Me

Nina Kei

Nina Attieban Kei is a talented Fashion Designer and pattern Maker based in New York. She always possessed a passion for fashion from a young age. Back then, she would frequently draw sketches and make actual garments using her dolls as models. As a young girl growing up in the Ivory Coast, she always had a thing for anything fashion. This burning desire for learning Fashion Design drove her to earn her first degree in the field.

Just after her first fashion degree, she was selected as one of the top 10 designers at a fashion contest in the entire country of the Ivory Coast. As a result, she was granted an internship in Paris at the House of Cerruti. During her time there, she had the opportunity to learn from great designers and pattern makers.

As only Nina can best put it, “ I still remember my first draping project with the assistance of the head pattern maker of the House of Cerruti. This experience helped build my confidence and inspired me to design and create countless gowns over my career.”

A few years later, she started to invest in her fashion design career. Once in the U.S., her passion for learning burned more than ever. She earned a second Fashion Design degree from FIT in New York, has been given opportunities with companies like David’s Bridal, Integrity Toys etc… and worked with private clients creating outfits for special milestone events.

“To simply sum it all up, I can say that after two decades of experience in the fashion field and professional training across three different continents such as Africa, Europe, and America, I deeply feel the need to share my experience with the world. I have met fabulous people who taught and helped me build an incredible knowledge base. Now as I stop from time to time to contemplate what the world has brought to me, I am truly convinced that it is time to value what I have learned by giving it back.”
